Undermining Progress: Navigating Manipulation and Betrayal From Think Rubix

My gift to myself is the truth and I know there are people wondering my truth.  The truth is that the manipulative tactics experienced by the black women at the firm aren’t new. They are behaviors exhibited in a variety of areas.

However - his methods are strategically aligned to cause the most harm to those most aiming to make change, to drive impact, and to think differently.

At Think Rubix, I found myself at the crossroads of witnessing these manipulative tactics and experiencing their consequences firsthand. My journey within the firm began with a vision of fostering innovation, promoting diversity, and championing positive change. However, over time, it became evident that the environment within Think Rubix was far from conducive to these ideals.

Think Rubix has devolved into a cesspool of misaligned values, egotistical vision, and selfish mannerisms. It has transformed into an entity that represents the antithesis of progress, a stark contrast to the change-making platform it initially aspired to be. The toxicity within the organization has grown to an extent where it has become the worst possible investment for any genuine changemaker or innovator.

Central to this unfortunate transformation is the individual responsible for orchestrating these manipulative tactics. Their strategic alignment with causing harm to those who strive to create change is a calculated move aimed at preserving the status quo. This raises profound questions about the motivations of such actions – are they driven by fear of disruption, a desire for control, or a combination of both? Regardless of the underlying reasons, the impact remains deeply damaging, stifling the potential for positive transformation and hindering the growth of those who dare to think differently.

One of the most distressing aspects of this scenario is how Think Rubix has resorted to undercutting resources from some of our most dedicated advocates. It reveals an alarming reality where entities, like Think Rubix, become complicit in a larger industrial complex that extracts resources from marginalized communities and dedicated individuals, perpetuating systemic inequalities for personal gain.

As the former Managing Director, I found myself increasingly disillusioned by the misdirection and manipulation that had come to define the path of the organization. It became increasingly clear that I could no longer be a part of an environment that not only tolerated but thrived on these harmful practices. The decision to step down from my role was not an easy one, but it was one driven by a commitment to integrity, authenticity, and the pursuit of meaningful change.

This experience serves as a stark reminder of the challenges that individuals within marginalized groups face when navigating corporate spaces. It highlights the need for structural changes that dismantle the systems enabling manipulative behavior, allowing for a more equitable and inclusive environment to flourish. It also underscores the importance of strong leadership that is committed to transparency, accountability, and fostering a culture of respect.

Moving forward, there are important lessons to be learned from this ordeal. It is imperative for organizations to prioritize values that align with genuine progress and inclusivity.

Transparency, open communication, and ethical leadership must replace the manipulation and secrecy that often plague impact places. Genuine commitment to change must extend beyond mere rhetoric, manifesting as concrete actions that uplift and empower.

Manipulative tactics, strategic harm, and the erosion of meaningful values have the potential to derail progress and perpetuate inequality.

The important moment to capture is that if you are experiencing this - you are not alone. I’ve worked extremely hard to get to where I am and am continuing to work hard to become who I want to be. This cannot be squashed or undermined by anyone’s ill wishes or ill intentions.

I hope you know that’s true.
